Cozy white sweater

Today I crochetted a warm sweater-tunic for Barbie. I found the description online.

Eltin Dynamite doll

Hooray! My first Dynamite doll from the new Eltin Boogie beach collection arrived from eBay. My husband and I chose it right away, especially since I’m generally fond of reddish colors. (more…)

Igorek and Bonnie

We found another nice little toy store in the neighborhood. We bought relatively inexpensive dolls, an Aliee doll from an unknown company and a Beach fun baby from Baby World. We got the little girl with a crib mainly because of the crib and also because of the short haircut. So, despite the wardrobe, this girl will be a boy for us, because we really lack boys. Welcome, Igorek! And we named the second girl Bonnie, she’s in a funny swimsuit, with a shirt to protect from sun and wind, and a flying saucer to play with at the beach.

The funny trio – Faith, Hope, and Love.

Today I bought Anya some funny little figures – Karen with her bridal party. Moreover, we already have the bride and groom from this series. I don’t think any other names besides Faith, Hope, and Love are suitable for them.

Whitney gymnast

One of my long-held dreams has come true! I found and won a 1995 Whitney articulated gymnast doll, one of Stacy friend, on eBay myself.

This freckled marvel has haunted me since childhood. The thing is, when my sister and I only had Barbie, I didn’t know Stacy, Skipper’s little sister, even existed. And then in 1995, our dad bought Ken and this girl. Our parents put us in a cruel dilemma – one of the dolls had to be given to Daddy’s goddaughter, even though we really begged them to keep both. I would never put my daughter in such a situation. Knowing that the husband is more needed in the family, we still chose Ken, and Whitney went to his goddaughter. There was a sad destiny for this doll. Little girls broke her arm and lost it somewhere. Such an attitude towards my dream dolls was like a knife in the heart to me.

To get rid of “childhood psychological trauma,” I promised myself that I would definitely find and buy the same doll for myself. However, I have never seen even regular Stacy dolls in any store in Ukraine, not even talking about the articulated ones.

And so, 14 years later, I fulfilled my promise, which I am very, very happy about. The doll is new, has never been taken out of the box. After 14 years of standing in a straddle position, one of her legs has gone numb. It’s now very difficult to make both legs move equally, but I think I’ll manage. The girl came with a gymnastic log, heart-shaped glasses, and a hairbrush.

Apple forever!

I crocheted a new top for Sayuri today. And since we are very fond of Apple products, Sayuri agreed to pose for a promotional photoshoot for Macintoshes. Look, it turned out funny… (more…)

Picnic set

I was walking with Anya around the neighborhood, and at the market I bought a cheap but very useful Gloria picnic set – it has a lot of useful little things. Here’s the first, but not very successful, photoshoot.

Shelly – Snow White and Fashion Fever Party Barbie

I bought two dolls at Antoshka today – a cute disco Barbie and a brunette Shelly in a Snow White princess costume.

Evie with the rabbit

Today I bought a set – little Eva with dark braids. It came with a white rabbit with a pink house and a carrot on a magnet.

Girls on the sofa.

My husband jokes that I simply can’t leave the store without buying some dolls. Today, I was completely charmed by two little cuties with very sweet faces, and a soft little couch as a bonus. I really love little ones with such an open eye slit, like Mattel’s Kelly. I named the blonde Marina, and the redhead Arinka.
