More gifts from Italy.

And today we went to the “promenade” – it’s an eight-kilometer street in the town of Jesolo, and there we bought the main dancing princess – a 2006 Genevieve dancing princess doll. The doll’s skirt lights up and it spins if you press a button on the doll’s leg. The girl has articulated arms, and the legs don’t bend and each one needs a battery. The pointe shoes come off, but unfortunately, the skirt doesn’t. It’s a shame because she’ll always have to be in this outfit. I named the doll Maya, after the famous ballerina. She is very beautiful, and a cat ballerina named Twyla was also sold with her.

We also bought two little keychain babies. They were sold with plastic pacifiers and were called Cicicnobello. They have plastic arms and heads, and soft fabric bodies. There were many of them, but I only bought Maksimka and Derek.

And the funny little creatures with velvet coverings were sold in plastic balls in vending machines for 1.5 euros.

First Dancing Princesses

Today is the anniversary of our wedding – we’re celebrating it in Venice! What else is there to dream of? But my dear husband is also giving me these wonderful girls – 12 dancing princesses Isla and Headley. I’m just happy! I have seen them only onse in one shop in our town. But I had no money to buy them.

And then, no matter how much I looked, they weren’t available anywhere but eBay. And they are wonderful – so elegant and slender, with hinged handles. Only their legs don’t bend, and the pointe shoes don’t come off. But a straddle split is no problem for them.

They were sold with stands that move and rotate while performing a dance. I named them Ellie and Audrey. Thank you, my dear, for being you!

Zoo

Coming home, the first thing I’ll do is capture photos of our little critters because they’re always getting lost, and Anechka helps me with that. So, we currently have one pony, 8 dogs, 3 cats, and one bird.

Our Yana from Mariupol

Just before leaving, I decided to take a picture of Lucy – Yana, who will be staying home alone with my parents. The rest of the dolls will go with us. I already have a doll with that face at home – it’s Laura, but Yana won’t be upset either. She’s leaving behind a rather rich dowry here – things and furniture from the original Barbie house that I didn’t take with me. This doll was sold with a baby in a stroller, puppies, and accessories for them. She has an unusual “solid” rubber body. She can’t sit down and raise her arms, but her arms and legs are flexible. And compared to Barbie, her body is significantly flatter :)”

Beach photoshoot

Our cheerful company went for a walk to Azov beach. Here’s what came of it…

Boutique

Today we also bought more from Gloria’s Boutique, so we had a little photoshoot in the interior.

Taking a picture at the bar.

I bought a set with a bar for Barbie. The girls went to a new bar in the evening.

Pink swimsuit

I crocheted for Tereza her first pink swimsuit. It looks good with her tan.

Marilyn Monroe’s Dress

I crocheted a white dress, like the one Marilyn Monroe wore, based on a description from the internet.

Girls from Kyiv

My husband and I went to Kyiv to the German embassy to apply for visas. This was already our second trip – the first one went badly because of confusion with the documents. Even on our first trip, we stopped by the toy store “Budinok Igrashok” and saw a cute Nikki from the beach series there. But we were so upset then that they returned our documents, that we simply forgot to go back to that store and buy her. But this time our documents were perfectly prepared, and after receiving our visas, we went into a little shop and, in our joy, bought as many as two dolls – Teresa Fashion and beach Nikki.

Theresa has very unusual legs – they are completely plastic and don’t bend, but she has amazing core strength. Her arms only move up and down, unlike Nikki’s. The girls were named Rachel and Nikki.
