Today, in honor of Valentine’s Day, Anya and I bought two unusual dolls while taking a walk. The first is a regular Chinese Polinka, but instead of legs, it has a plastic tail. And the second is a little girl with an unusually large head, but she’s quite cute and came with a pink pony. (more…)
I crochet an openwork top for FR Veronika based on a pattern from a doll website.
I sewed a simple sweater from a sock and pants from stretch fabric for Tyler today.
Hooray! Today, Barbie’s grandma from the Happy Family series arrived right for the Epiphany. I had been waiting for the package for quite a while; I ordered it even before the New Year, but it was coming from California, and the people there are a bit peculiar, so just the fact that the doll made it from there is already a big achievement! Today, on Christmas Day, Anechka received a wonderful Sleeping Beauty Shelly as a gift under the Christmas tree from the Little Princess series.
Hooray! She wasn’t lost! My Christmas present from my beloved husband arrived today. This is my first Tonner doll –
Just got back from a family New Year’s walk around the city. We had a great time, took the child to see the Christmas tree, and a particularly successful visit was to “Antoshka,” where I bought a fantastic articulated Barbie doll from the Fashionistas Glam 2009 series. (more…)
Happy New Year!
For such an occasion, a collection update is a must. Today, Ded Moroz (Father Frost) brought a wonderful little fairy riding a shiny horse to Anechka. (more…)
Hooray! Today, Grandpa Barbie from the Happy Family series arrived directly from England. I wanted him almost 2 years ago. We ordered him with Grandma from a friend in Canada, she bought us these dolls, but we never had the opportunity to receive them. This continued for almost a year, and then, when we got tired of waiting and asked her to simply forward the dolls to us, it turned out that her elderly mother, due to dementia, had sent these dolls to some other children in the village at an unknown time. My disappointment was immeasurable. So much time was wasted waiting foolishly. It’s clear that we don’t want to have anything to do with this woman anymore. And now my husband and I are forced to hunt for these white and black grandparents on eBay, and they are quite expensive there because shipping from the States is very expensive. So far, we have only managed to acquire the white grandpa. I ordered him from England at an acceptable price, relatively cheap and with very fast delivery. I didn’t even believe he would arrive by the New Year, but he did, so meet Grandpa Steve.
